Adapting to the Gym — Embracing New Cardio Routines

In the beginning of my weight loss journey, walking was my go-to cardio. I started by strolling around my town and then moved on to using a treadmill at home while watching my favorite shows.

Now that I’ve moved, I no longer have a treadmill, but my apartment complex does have a small gym. It’s a bit different, though, as it doesn’t have a treadmill, but it does have an elliptical. So, I’ve adapted to using the elliptical, and it’s been a learning experience.

Overcoming the Challenges

At first, stepping into the gym and using the elliptical felt intimidating. Building that courage to start was tough, but once I got going, it became easier. I also picked up some gym etiquette along the way.

Having the right gear made a big difference too. I invested in comfortable cardio shoes, affordable earbuds, and, of course, a reliable water bottle.

Final Thoughts

Now, I simply hop on the elliptical, put on my favorite show, and keep going until I reach my daily calorie-burning goal. It’s all about consistency and making it enjoyable.

The main takeaway is that there’s always a learning curve when adapting to new routines. It’s all part of the journey, and with persistence, it becomes second nature. I was so scared before, now I realize that no one cared as much as me.
